Do you want a personal relationship with God?
1. Recognize you are a sinner. Your life without God is empty, meaningless, and eternally bankrupt.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
2. Realize Jesus Christ is the answer for your life needs.
“Jesus said. “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father [God] except through me.”
“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people by which we must be saved."
3. Turn away from your sinful life toward God.
“The time has come. The kingdom of God is near. Repent, and believe the good news!”
4. Ask Jesus into your soul and life. Believe in his sacrifice and love for you.
“…to all who received him, to those who believed on his Name, He gave the right to become children of God”
“…if you confess with your mouth “Jesus is Lord”, and believe in your heart that that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
For it is with your heart you believe and are made right, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”
5. Re-align your life. Start going to church and getting involved in building new friendships.
"Let us not give up meeting together … but encourage one another.”
A suggested prayer (talk to God) of commitment of your life to Jesus Christ:
Lord Jesus Christ,
I am sorry for the things I have done wrong in my life. [Take a few moments to ask His forgiveness for anything particular that is on your conscience.]
Please forgive me. I now turn from everything which I know is wrong.
Thank you that you died on the cross for me so that I could be forgiven and set free.
Thank you that You offer me forgiveness and the gift of your Spirit. I now receive that gift.
Please come into my life by Your Holy Spirit to be with me forever.
Thank you, Lord Jesus. Amen. ["Amen" is an old word that simply means "I agree with what I have said"]
